update
October 21, 2011
Dear parents,
Participation in ASU's Homecoming Parade and Block Party is an annual tradition for the Parents Association. Our parents and PLUMS (parents of alums) build a float, march in the parade and show their Sun Devil pride as they celebrate at our booth at the Homecoming Block Party. Check out the details and be sure to join the fun! Out-of-state parents can participate, too. Send a shout out to ASU parents in our facebook community and invite Sun Devils in your area to get together and celebrate Homecoming. Organize a game-watching party, a coffee or meet for dinner. Keep us posted and we will send your group some ASU goodies to add to your Homecoming celebration.
Thanksgiving is around the corner, and the ASUPA funds a free on-campus Thanksgiving dinner. See the event listing below and encourage your student to sign up if he or she is unable to travel home for the holiday. We also have an emergency crisis fund to help students dealing with short-term financial difficulties stay in school. Looking ahead, our scholarship application will be posted on our website in November. Please support these important student success initiatives by making your gift online today.
Go Sun Devil families!

Changes to the ASU Academic Calendar go into effect with the spring 2012 semester. Classes begin on Jan. 5, 2012, a week and a half earlier than past spring semesters. ASU also added two 7.5-week sessions to the regular 15-week schedule, allowing students more flexibility in their schedules and making it possible to move to the next course in a series more quickly.

Join the fun as we enter our annual float into the ASU Homecoming Parade. We will meet two hours prior to the parade — plenty of time to learn the dance routine or be assigned a banner to carry. Homecoming T-shirts will be distributed. Help us decorate the float and meet our Professors of the Year, who lead our float in the parade. No experience required.
