My personal story includes a difficult family life, where it was sometimes hard to find the encouragement I needed. The family association became my ASU family — a consistent source of support at school. I often volunteered with other family association scholars on community-service projects and made some close friendships this way. We also worked alongside parent volunteers and board members at ASU events.
I'm the first in my family to graduate from high school, so going to college isn't something I take for granted. I'm proud to be setting a positive example for my brothers and sisters, teaching them the value of an education and how a degree is vital to their success.
While attending ASU, I've discovered a path that will allow me to make a difference in the world. I had an amazing high school guidance counselor to direct me and I'm considering providing that service to other students as a career.
Everything I've been able to experience — and everything I will become — has been made possible through the generous contributions of parents, like you, to the ASU Parents Fund.
With great respect and gratitude,
