The ASU Parents Association is proud to support Summer Bridge, a program that assists first-semester freshmen in making a successful transition from high school to college. Through Summer Bridge, students become acclimated to campus life, gain access to support programs and services, and learn effective academic skills during the summer before their freshman year.
Summer Bridge students earn up to seven academic credits and benefit from small classes with tutoring and structured study sessions, as well as frequent interaction with faculty, staff and peers. Summer Bridge serves primarily first-generation college students, as well as those needing additional support to succeed in college and beyond.
Data show that Summer Bridge has been particularly effective in first- to second-year retention, a critical threshold for student success. Sponsored by University Academic Success Programs, Summer Bridge now serves students on all ASU campuses.
