During their orientation to the university, new ASU students learn about the Sun Devil Way, which focuses on engagement, responsibility and achievement. What makes our ASU parents adopt that same mantra? Ask Steve Murow, parent of David, ’09, and chair of the Parents Association development committee. Murow adopted the Sun Devil Way by volunteering his time and becoming a leadership donor to the ASU Parents Fund with a $10,000 gift to support Parents Association initiatives.
When my son needed assistance, I found support through the ASU Parents Association. I was inspired by their commitment to providing the best possible experience for all Sun Devil families, so I became engaged and joined the board of advisors. This year, I serve as development chair, inviting other families to make a gift to the Parents Fund and enhance funding for important initiatives such as scholarships, learning resources, campus safety and much more.
Unquestionably, the ASU Parents Association works to engage families into the life of the university and provide the best experience possible. To maintain its services and resources and to expand even more educational and learning opportunities to all students, it needs ongoing and increasing support from parents, families and friends.
Every gift makes a difference
I invite every Sun Devil family to consider a gift at the Parents Circle Leadership level ($1,000 and above). Although a gift of any amount – even $25 – can impact ASU students.
If every family made a gift to the ASU Parents Fund in honor of their student, not only could we enhance last year’s accomplishments, we could proudly stand behind our achievement of fulfilling the three-prongs of the Sun Devil Way.
